Description	:	. Miranda was a daughter of John Streeter & Lucy Putney Locklin. She was living with her parents in Lyndon, Caledonia County, Vermont for many years. In the 1830 census she was the female under 5 (age 3), in 1840 she was the female aged 10 to 14 (age 13). On 26 Jul 1850 she was age 23 living in Lyndon with her parents, her younger brother Hiram, and her son Joseph H. aged 4. She was living with her parents in Lyndon, Caledonia County, Vermont for many years. In the 1830 census she was the female under 5 (age 3), in 1840 she was the female aged 10 to 14 (age 13). On 26 Jul 1850 she was age 23 living in Lyndon with her parents, her younger brother Hiram, and her son Joseph H. aged 4. On 12 Jun 1860 she was age 33 living in Lyndon with her parents and her son Henry aged 14. Both her and Henry were listed as Piper. I can find no evidence she ever married a Piper... perhaps an attempt to acknowledge her relationship with Pierce. On 10 Aug 1870 she was 43, still single, living in Lyndon with her widowed mother. Her father had died 2 years prior. On 30 Sep 1870 she was married in Lyndon, Vermont by Rev. R. Pritty to Warren Pierce. She was listed as Miranda S. Piper, daughter of John Piper & Lucy (Streeter). [As opposed to John Streeter & Lucy Locklin] On 10 Jun 1880 she was age 53, living in Lyndon, Vermont with her husband Warren Pierce. She died on 15 Jul 1893 in Westmore, Vermont of Consumption, aged 66 years 5 months 4 days. It appears that Henry Joseph Pierce was her only child. His death record from Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1911 claims he was born in Westmore, Vermont on 30 Oct 1837, son of Warren Pierce & Malinda Streeter. His father was age 16 in 1837 and his mother was age 10. It seems more likely that he was born in Oct 1845, as this would match his age as 4 in Jul 1850 and 14 in Jun 1860, living with his mother and grandparents in Lyndon, Vermont. He was only about 16 when the Civil War broke out, so he claimed to be 18 so that he could serve. He was probably born in Lyndon, Vermont... not Westmore. His mother moved to Westmore before she died, but lived in Lyndon he whole life. The informant on Henry's 1911 Death Recor was his wife Emma Josephine. She probably knew his birthday, October 30th, firsthand... if they celebrated birthdays much back then. She was close on reporting his mother's name as Malinda Streeter instead of Miranda Streeter.
