Description	:	She was born Jan. 27, 1915, in the Lutheran parsonage in Axtell to the Rev. K.G. William and Lillian (Hurd) Dahl. Miriam was baptized as an infant. In 1929, she was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. B.M. Samuelson and was an active member throughout her life in women’s groups and as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. She married Emerald Harvey Lindgren on June 3, 1936. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1932 and then attended Kearney State College. Miriam was baptized as an infant. In 1929, she was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. B.M. Samuelson and was an active member throughout her life in women’s groups and as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. She married Emerald Harvey Lindgren on June 3, 1936. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1932 and then attended Kearney State College. She taught in a rural school for two years and continued to teach for 26 years in the Axtell Community School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teacher’s organization, Holdrege Area Retired Teachers and other local and county teachers’ groups. After retirement from teaching, she was librarian of Axtell Public Library for 10 years and organized a nursery school for a time. She served as a legal guardian for many Bethphage residents and volunteered at Bethphage. She had spent the past 15½ years as a resident of Christian Homes in Holdrege. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerald in May 2006; her parents; a brother, Philip Samuel Dahl; and an infant brother. Her father, the Rev. K.G. William Dahl, founder of Bethphage Mission, died when Miriam was 2½ years old. Also preceding her in death were three great-grandsons, Jonathan Arrick, Thomas Coulter and Colin Arrick. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Sharilyn “Shari” Johnson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one son, Randahl “Randy” and his wife, Anita, of Burke, Va.; grandchildren and spouses, Krys and Bill Arrick of Cripple Creek, Colo., Jill and Rod Coulter of Broken Arrow, Dr. Kjell and Kristi Lindgren of League City, Texas, and Nicole Lindgren of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren, Matt Arrick, Jordan Arrick, Cody and wife Lyla Arrick, Courtney Coulter, Mitchell Coulter, Alexandra Lindgren, Kai Lindgren and Tor Lindgren; one great-great-grandson, Tyler Arrick; and one great-great-granddaughter, Rylea Arrick.
