Read More	LAID TO REST Funeral of Mrs. J.C. Osborn Saturday Largely Attended The funeral of Mrs. J.C. Osborn whose death was announced in these columns last week, was held at Mt. Zion church in Schoolcraft at 11 o'clock last Saturday morning. The services were conducted by Rev. Harper of Madison, who spoke in words of tenderest sympathy and comfort, of deepest Christian hope and promise. So great was the attendance that Rev. Harper spoke from the entrance of the church that those outside might hear him. After the church services the body was escorted by hundreds of friends and relatives to the Osborn cemetery and there interred. Mrs. Osborn, whose maiden name was Mollie Dufphey, was born in Grayson county, Virginia, March 12, 1858, and here she resided until her marriage to Joseph C. Osborn in December, 1889, when she came to Nebraska with her husband, the two locating on the home place south of Battle Creek. She passed away November 23, 1916, after a short illness, age 58 years, 6 months, and 11 days. "God touched her with His finger, and she slept," the poet wrote. So may we say of this dear life__"God touched her with His finger, and she slept," but not until a beautiful life was lived, a noble example of patience, fidelity to truth and faith were given. Not until visions of a heavenly life had cheered and illuminated the valley of shadow. And now, that she sleeps, memory will take up the harp of life, and smiting the strings,find that her virtues melt into music. Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings__ long for a mother's counsel and advice, and a wife's gentle and loving sympathy. Deceased is survived by the husband and two sons, Tom and Bryan, and two daughters, Belle and Hazel, all at home. She was a sister of Joseph Dufphey and Mrs. J.A. Wright of Battle Creek and Lawrence and Tom Dufphey of Tilden, Neb.
