Description	:	Mollie (Matejka) Nun was born on a farm near Milligan to Anna and Charles Matejka on June 28, 1911, and passed away October 6, 2003, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 92 years, three months, and eight days. Mollie was the oldest of five children, was raised on the family farm and attended rural school nearby. Mollie and Herman Nun were united in marriage on September 6, 1939, with services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tobias. She and Herman farmed near Ohiowa for 32 years. Read More	Mollie (Matejka) Nun was born on a farm near Milligan to Anna and Charles Matejka on June 28, 1911, and passed away October 6, 2003, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 92 years, three months, and eight days. Mollie was the oldest of five children, was raised on the family farm and attended rural school nearby. Mollie and Herman Nun were united in marriage on September 6, 1939, with services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tobias. She and Herman farmed near Ohiowa for 32 years. They raised two daughters, Patricia and Mary. Mollie was active in farm life, especially dairy cattle, poultry and irrigation. She enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and took pride each year in raising beautiful flowers. Enjoyment also was being involved in Extension Club, 4-H and Altar Society. When Mollie and Herman retired from farming in 1972, they moved to Geneva. She enjoyed retirement years that were filled with church and community activities. Grandchildren and traveling, held a special place with Mollie. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia and husband Robert E. Lee; Mary and husband, Harlan Mettenbrink; granddaughter Julie and husband, Pat Ahren; grandson Douglas and wife Sharon Lee; grandson Michael and wife Jill Lee; and great-grandson Colton; grandson Patrick Mettenbrink; grandson, Eric Mettenbrink; and brother Alfred and wife Joy Matejka; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Geneva, of Friday, October 10, with Msgr. Ivan Vap officiating. Michael Zeleny accompanied the congregation who sang "On Eagles Wings," "Amazing Grace," "O Lord I am not Worthy" and "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee." Casket bearers were Marvin Gooding, Melvin Vavra, Mark Vavra, Douglas Lee, Michael Lee, and Eric Mettenbrink. Honorary casket bearers were Julie Ahern, Pat Ahern, Pat Mettenbrink, Sharon Lee, Jill Lee, and Colton Lee. The Nebraska Signal October 15, 2003 page 11. Interment was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery.
