She graduated from Tulare High School and attended Aberdeen School of Commerce. On August 28, 1955, she married Carroll Schultz at St. John's Church in rural Tulare. Mona worked for Standard Oil Company in Huron, SD. She and Carroll farmed and ranched until 1982. During that time, she cooked at the school in Tulare. After moving to Rapid City, SD, Mona worked at Meadowbrook Manor. When they moved to Huron, she enjoyed her time working for Home Instead Senior Care. She always put her family first. Mona was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and crafting, including the special handmade bears she gave to her grandchildren. Mona was a member of the Tulare United Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Douglas; her sister, Lona; and her brothers, Gordy and Lynn.
