Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. The Rev. Joe Hannappel and the Rev. Jim Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery. Mrs. Griesman was born May 13, 1924, at Primrose to John and Louisa (Vanderloop) Huhman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, and a son, William. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia Fehringer of Columbus and Brenda and Randy Schimmer of Grand Island; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Anthony Jr. of Boone, Jerome of Columbus, Mark and Rita and Richard and Marie, all of Grand Island, Robert and Linda of Albion and Timothy and Lori of Spalding; two sisters, Delores Hinman of Grand Island and Elizabeth Johnson of Kansas City, Kan.; and a brother, Anthony Huhman of Broken Bow. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Monica had 12 siblings. Monica attended rural grade schools in the Primrose and Spalding area, and attended Spalding Public School for three years and several years later, graduated in 1971. Monica married Anthony Griesman on Dec. 29, 1941, at the Spalding Academy Chapel. Monica and Tony farmed northeast of Spalding. To this marriage were born nine children. Anthony passed away June 4, 2002. Monica was a member of St. Michael's Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and the American Auxiliary. Monica taught sewing classes, quilted, did upholstering of furniture and worked for O.E.O. Program. Monica was very active in helping others and volunteered for 4-H leadership.
