Graveside services and Military Rites will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pevler was born on April 12, 1932 to Leonard and Aileen (Dolan) Pevler in Sterling. He attended Sterling schools and graduated from Sterling High School in 1950. He entered the service during the Korean War and served in Germany with the U.S. Army from 1953-1957. Mr. Pevler was born on April 12, 1932 to Leonard and Aileen (Dolan) Pevler in Sterling. He attended Sterling schools and graduated from Sterling High School in 1950. He entered the service during the Korean War and served in Germany with the U.S. Army from 1953-1957. He continued his service in the Reserves until 1961. After his discharge he returned to Sterling. On Oct. 6, 1957 he married Marilou Wirth in Sterling. He worked for the post office for 28 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed watching sports, gardening, wood carving and his jeep. He planted flowers at the post office for the last 30 years. Mr. Pevler was a member of the VFW Post No. 3541 and the American Legion Post No. 20. He is survived by his wife, Marilou Pevler of Sterling; two sons, Montie W. Pevier Jr. of Sterling and Mark Pevier and wife Kelly of Sterling; a daughter, Monica Nelson and husband Ted of Hutchinson, Kan..; and four grandchildren. Mr. Pevier was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Pevler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montie Pevler Memorial Fund.
