Morgan died 3 Jun 1892 in Iowa Obituary: Afton (Iowa) Enterprise June 16, 1892 On Saturday evening, June 4, 1892, at his home in Jones township [Union county], occurred the death of Morgan Remington, aged 66 years, 7 mos and 20 days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Reed, of Thayer, at the residence of the deceased on the following Monday after which the remains were laid in the Murray cemetery. The deceased was born in Washington county, New York, Oct. 14, 1825; came to Mahaska county Iowa, in 1855 was married to Matilda Cooper, June 21, 1856. Moved to Union county Iowa, in 1863. He leaves a companion and six children to mourn his loss and it is the first death that ever occurred in his family(!).
