Description	:	M. L. Alex, 56, Dies Morris Leon Alex, 56, of 10 Chaucer, a welder at Caird Engineering Co., and resident of Helena the past 15 years, died Monday night at St. John's Hospital. He had been in failing health the past six months. Mr. Alex was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Pony, the son of Bert and Carrie Morris Alex. As a child he moved with his parents to Townsend where he attended grade school and was graduated from Broadwater County High School. He later attended the Billings Polytechnic Institute. Alex, 56, Dies Morris Leon Alex, 56, of 10 Chaucer, a welder at Caird Engineering Co., and resident of Helena the past 15 years, died Monday night at St. John's Hospital. He had been in failing health the past six months. Mr. Alex was born Oct. 11, 1908, in Pony, the son of Bert and Carrie Morris Alex. As a child he moved with his parents to Townsend where he attended grade school and was graduated from Broadwater County High School. He later attended the Billings Polytechnic Institute. Prior to coming to Helena he operated a service station in Townsend. He was married Sept. 14, 1940, in Townsend to Susie Norman, who survives him. He was a member of the boilermakers union in Helena. In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lewis Nelson of Missoula, Mrs. Alfred Myles of Winston; son, Bob Alex of Santa Monica, Calif.; three grandchildren, Debbie and Jeff Nelson and Kerri Lynn Myles; brother, George Alex of Townsend; aunt, Mrs. Charles Ross of Helena; uncles, Clarence Morris of Townsend and Clarence Alex of Fruitland, Wash.; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Retz Funeral home with the Rev. George Harper of St. Paul's Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
