His injuries were not believed at first to be critical. McDonald is the nineteenth fatality in Lancaster county this year and the second within three days. An employee of Roberts dairy in Lincoln until he moved to the farm two years ago, McDonald is survived by his wife, Julia; a daughter, Mrs. Earl Peterson of Lincoln; a son, Maurice, Jr., of Lincoln; his mother Mrs. Catherine McDonald of Lincoln; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Hennessey of Agnew, Mrs. Harry Nelson of Davey, and Mrs. George Gardner of Lincoln; three brothers, William of Wallace, James and Raymond of Lincoln, and a grandson. After the accident, which county officers said occurred three fourths of a mile west of the Agnew turn on No. 14th street, McDonald was taken to the hospital suffering bad lacerations to his right arm and car, and numerous bruises and cuts about the body. He was treated by Dr. W.W. Noyes of Ceresco and Dr. J. Stanley Welch of Lincoln. Lincoln Evening News; Thurs, 30 Sep 1937; p13 MCDONALD-Funeral services for Maurice McDonald will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's church in Agnew, Rev. William Rezabek officiating. Burial will be recited at 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Splain, Schnell & Griffiths.
