He was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Francesville, Ind., son of the late Martin Ray Cain and the late Martha Marie Waymier. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Virginia (Thomas) Maksyan, La Porte; son, Edward Cain, La Porte; eight grandchildren, Shari, Jesse, Martha, Benjamin, Michael, Ashley, James and Joseph; seven great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Raymond Page. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Sue Melton; two brothers, Ralph and Homer Cain; one half-brother, Gene Page; and two sisters, Illa Quayzar and Marge Virginia Steel. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cutler Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, with the Rev. Carl Galloway officiating. Burial is in Rolling Prairie Cemetery. There will be full military honors at the cemetery.
