Mose Aaron Burch, the ninth and youngest child of James A. and Sarah Burch, was born on the home place one mile east of Braddyville, Iowa, Dec. 21, 1888, and departed this life at his home in Braddyville June 5, 1959, at the age of 70 years, five months and 12 days. He spent his entire life in the Braddyville vicinity. On Dec 31, 1908, he was united in marriage to Arla Inez Carver. To this union were born one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Zora) Bonar of Omaha, Neb, and two sons, Maynard and Harold Burch of Braddyville. Mose was highly respected for his ability as a businessman. He served as a member of the school board for several years, a member of the County Board of Tax Review, and was widely known as a member of the Braddyville Quartet. He enjoyed singing and it gave him pleasure being of service to others with his songs. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife Arla, his three children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvis of St. Joseph, Mo., and Marvin of Clarinda; two sisters, Mrs. Stacy Reed and Mrs. Edna Moore of Braddyville, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Sunday June 7, 1959, at Braddyville Christian Church, the Rev. Ralph G. Allen of Clarinda officiated. Mrs. Margaret Grossman was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Lorene Harris. The flowers were cared for by his granddaughters. Honorary bearers were Noah Bailey, Paul Stickelman, Claude Apple, Harry Engstrand, Carl Williams, Max Garrett, Orin Gates and Wayne Davison. Active bearers were Oral Moore, Donald Moore, Eddie Burch, Gilbert Burch, Billy Burch, and Ronie Bonar. Interment was in the Braddyville Cemetery. Foster-Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
