Obiturary Silver Cliff The Truth Rustler Wed Sept 29 1897 Vol 25 No 4 MOSES MOORE DIED – At the Moore ranch near Rosita on Sunday , Sept 26th Moses Moore Sr, aged 75 Mr. Moore was born at Bishop’s Auckland, county Durham England. He went to Scotland , where his children were born in 1850. He came to this part of Colorado in 1880 and settled in Rosita where he and part of the family have since resided. Mr. Moore although having been a sufferer for years from a paralytic affliction, appeared bright as usual and the end of life was unlooked for. The family had just finished their dinner and Mrs. Moore, wife of Moses Moore Jr. called her husbands attention to his father who was seemingly overcome with a severe spell of hiccough which in a very fiew moments took his breath completely from him, thus strangling him. He died in his sons arms Mr. Moore leaves a wife and five children, three sons – Robert in Pennsylvania, HARRY, A MUSICIAN OF NOTE, AT Tyler, Texas, and Moses and two daughters, Mrs. J.A. McKinnon and Mrs. L H. Abbott --to mourn his departure, the last three named being residents of this county. The Rustler’s deepest sympathies are extended to the sorrowing ones. The funeral took place at the Rosita cemetery Monday afternoon the 27th at 4 pm and was well attended the service being conducted by Rev. L.W. Smith
