She was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Lima to Walter R. and Anna Bowsher, who preceded her in death. In 1938, she married Richard G. Wisener, who survives in Huntsville. Read More	ANNABELL BOWSHER WISENER, 90, died at 2:55 a.m. April 20, 2006, at Blake Medical Center, Bradenton, Fla., following an illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Lima to Walter R. and Anna Bowsher, who preceded her in death. In 1938, she married Richard G. Wisener, who survives in Huntsville. Mrs. Wisener worked for the American Red Cross and the Lima YWCA for 60 years. She retired from the American Red Cross Allen County Chapter board of directors in 2004. She was an avid swimmer and teacher. She was the swimming director and water safety instructor and trainer specializing in adaptive aquatics for the disabled. Her Red Cross career began in 1943 when, as a newly certified water safety instructor, she taught survival swimming skills to soldiers leaving for World War II battlefields. Among her many accomplishments was teaching a young Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, how to swim. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. She was a loving wife and mother whose lifelong interests included painting, reading, traveling, gardening, making others happy and helping whomever she could. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, husband and daughters. Survivors also include two daughters, Alice Ann Morgan of New Paltz, N.Y., and Donna Wright of Anna Maria, Fla. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First English Lutheran Church, 107 Mechanic St., Wapakoneta. The Rev. Steven Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. After the burial friends may stop by the Wisener home on Minnewaucken Island, Indian Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Allen County Chapter, The Lima YWCA, or First English Lutheran Church.
