Read More	Obituary contributed by Louise Havens The Howard Courant-Citizen, Howard, Elk County, Kansas, Thursday, March 8, 1945 OBITUARY--BUTT Anne Eliza, oldest daughter of James and Melissa Farrell, was born at Manhattan, Kansas, March 13, 1868 and departed this life at her home in Howard, Kansas, March 1, 1945. On September 10, 1892, she was united in marriage to John W. Butt. To this union were born eight children, seven dying in infancy. Surviving are her faithful husband and one daughter, Mrs. Louisa Nigh, and three grandchildren, Mrs. Cleland Wells of Severy, David E. Nigh, serving with the U. S. Navy in the Southwest Pacific, and Mrs. Robert Hurt of Wichita; one foster son, Glen A. Pringle of Houston, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Maggie C??l of Wheatridge, Colorado, and one brother, John Farrell of Delia, Kansas, and nieces and nephews. The first two years of her married life were spent near Corning, Kansas. Later, she and her husband moved to a farm in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, where she lived until November, 1916, when she with her husband and daughter, moved to Howard, where she has since resided. She had been in failing health for several years and unable to take any part in the social activities of the community. She was a member of the United Brethren church at Fostoria, Kansas until her removal to Howard, when she united with the methodist church of this city. Funeral services were held at the Moon Chapel Sunday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. C. F. Jenkins, pastor of the Howard Methodist church. The music was furnished by Mrs. W. L. Morss, Mrs. Arthur Cummins, Mrs. John Garison and Mrs. A. K. Rader. The pallbearers were C. W. Hinshaw, Henry H. Jabes, C. M. Richardson, C. B. Le???iter, Dr. Frank R. Reid and Holly M. Miller. Burial was in Grace Lawn cemetery, Howard.
