(Jim) Deitloff Mrs. Barbara J. Deitloff, of Norfolk, Nebraska, passed away at the venerable age of 82 years 11 months 19 days on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Barbara J. Ellenberger, the second of seven daughters born to Edwin and Irene (Johnston) Ellenberger, was born November 28, 1934, in Norfolk. She was baptized December 23, 1934, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, attended elementary school at St. Paul's Lutheran School and confirmed April 22, 1948, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Barbara graduated from Norfolk Senior High School. On June 15, 1952, Miss Barbara J. Ellenberger was united in marriage with Mr. Willard R. (Jim) Deitloff at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children, Craig, Mindy and Staci. After their marriage, they lived in Norfolk for seven years and then moved to Salina, Kansas, where Barbara worked as a secretary for Southwestern Bell. They then moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado, and she was employed as a secretary for an architectural firm. They returned to Norfolk in 1979 and Barbara was employed at Vishay dale Electronics, retiring in 1996. After she retired, she did volunteer work and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Deitloff is survived by: …her 3 children, ……Craig and Louise Deitloff of Sioux, City, IA, ……Mindy Hunter of Norfolk, ……Staci and Rod Hackett, of Norfolk; …5 granddaughters, ……Charity Husser, Misty Luna, Lindsay Traeger, ……Cali Gibbs, Amber Daniel, …2 grandsons, ……Jason Weinrich and Wade Deitloff, …4 great-grandsons, ……Tyler Luna, Carsen Luna, ……Ben Husser, Bodie Traeger, …3 great-granddaughters, ……Madi Husser, Ellie Traeger and Sloane Weinrich, …5 sisters, …several nieces and nephews; and …special friends, ……Al Shipps and Joel Moritz. She was preceded in death by: …her dear parents, …her beloved husband, W.R. Jim; …a grandson, Keifer Daniel, and …a sister, Ruby Haase. Visitation for family and friends of Mrs. Barbara J. Deitloff, nee Ellenberger, was held from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.at Home for Funerals, Norfolk, Nebraska. Rite of Christian Funeral Service for Mrs. Deitloff, was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Interment of her mortal remains followed immediately at the parish cemetery there to await the awakening call of her Savior's voice on the day of Resurrection. In lieu of flowers Barbara requested memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church General Fund or NELS Student Tuition Assistance.
