Description	:	LONACONING,MARYLAND -- Deloris "Shiner" (Nolan) Miller, of 31 Douglas Ave., Lonaconing, entered into Heaven, escorted by her beautiful Guardian Angel, Monica, on June 26, 2006, following a lengthy illness.Deloris was a proud life-long resident of Lonaconing. She loved her town and her neighbors. She was born to the late Patrick A. and Mary (Rowan) Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joseph Miller, who died Jan. 31, 1990.Preceding her to Heaven were her loving sisters, Colleen Rowan and Bernadette (Robert M.) She loved her town and her neighbors. She was born to the late Patrick A. and Mary (Rowan) Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joseph Miller, who died Jan. 31, 1990.Preceding her to Heaven were her loving sisters, Colleen Rowan and Bernadette (Robert M.) Smith; and her wonderful brothers, Paul C. Nolan, Joseph (Mary Brewer) Nolan, and William R. Nolan; and a special sister-in-law, Helene Nolan. Shiner as she was lovingly called by her immediate family is survived by her sons, Ray and his wife Kathy (Ayers); and the light and love of her life her grandchildren, Ray "B" and Kaitlin "Kait" of Barton; and her caregivers, Tim and Catherine (Kiddy) Miller of Lonaconing.Other family members include her brothers, Edward E. and wife Mae of LaVale, John and his wife Audrey of Luke, Leo of Lonaconing; and her sister-in-law, Rose "Gus" Nolan of Lonaconing; and brother-in-law Bert Rowan, Lonaconing. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including very special nieces, Mary Louise (Bruce) Muir of Lonaconing, Mary Bernadette (Butch) Broadwater of Barton and Cheryl (Dan) Duncan of Lonaconing. Her loving family also includes Patti (Ed) Cuthbertson of Frostburg, Mike (Dee) Nolan of Hagerstown, Pat (Nikki) Nolan of Cumberland, Flora Jane Goodwin, Frostburg, Paul (Susan) Nolan, Midland, Bill (Frances Ann), Lonaconing, Ed (Cathy) Nolan, Frostburg, Tim Rowan, Lonaconing, and Joe (Sue) Rowan, Lonaconing.Her husband's family includes her sister-in-law, Delores Arnold and daughter, Mary Rita Harris of Elizabeth, Colo., Russell Rowe (Ginny) Miller, Vale Summit, and Maxine Murphy of Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg. Deloris was a life-long and devoted member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She also in the past was an active member of the Alvin C. Neat Post 5280, V.F.W., Ladies Auxiliary, Lonaconing.Shiner loved to cook and bake. She was famous for her fudge, cakes, and pies. She enjoyed bingo and was treated royally and with great respect and kindness by her friends at both the Midland Firemen's and St. Joseph's bingo. She was also an avid sports fan who loved the Washington Redskins, bowling on TV, and the PGA Tour of America, particularly Jack Nicholas, Tom Watson, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods. Her family acknowledges the wonderful people who made her feel special and allowed her to participate in extending her independence. A private burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lonaconing with a long-time friend, the Rev. C. Doug Kenney as celebrant.A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will take place at her church, St. Mary of the Annunciation on Thursday, June 29, 2006 with co-presiders the Rev. Paul Brecinski and Father Jim Hannon. The family will receive friends and family at10 a.m., with the Mass to begin at 11 a.m.A luncheon will follow in the Church Hall.The family acknowledges the love and devotion shown to her by her sitter and friend, Esther Smith of Lonaconing. Appreciation is extended to the care provided by Sandi Schriver and Joyce Ritchie.The wonderful nurses and aids of WMHS Home Hospice will always be remembered for the compassion and gentle care given to Shiner. The family especially thanks Cheryl Tillman, Jane Adams, Barb Simmons, Ann Porter, Kara Kenner, Linda Green, and Ruth Yoder.
