Description	:	Eleanor Irene Strauss, age 96 of Clay Center, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. She was born on December 3, 1920 in Riley, the daughter of Thomas and Irene (McCloskey) Jones and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1938. On September 10, 1952, she was married to Daniel Wilson. He preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Delmar Strauss on March 30, 1965. He preceded her in death in 1983. Read More	Eleanor Irene Strauss, age 96 of Clay Center, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor. She was born on December 3, 1920 in Riley, the daughter of Thomas and Irene (McCloskey) Jones and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1938. On September 10, 1952, she was married to Daniel Wilson. He preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Delmar Strauss on March 30, 1965. He preceded her in death in 1983. Eleanor was a member of the Clay Center Christian Church and loved her Lord. She enjoyed walking and was an independent and private person, who mowed her yard into her late 80‘s. She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Betty Jones of Clay Center and Catherine Jones of Kansas City; seven nieces and nephews, Vickie Wynn, Kathy Hafner, Sheila Backstrom, Jerry Cameron, Donna Cameron, Larry Jones, Jr. and Kristi Rohaus and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Larry Jones and one sister, Virginia Cameron. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Milford Cemetery. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
