Description	:	Eva Marie Buckner, 83, of Scranton, Iowa died at the Greene County Medical Center on January 30, 1997 following a brief illness. Funeral Services for Mrs. Buckner were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 1997 at the Church of Christ in Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating. Casket bearers were Randy Cooklin, Kevin Cooklin, Dan Dillavou, Steven Dillavou, Mitchell Dillavou, Verlin Dillavou and Dale Dillavou. Honorary casket bearers were Don Hicks, Kenneth Juergens, Vance Henning, Bill Slocum, Merle Sharon, Gary McDonald and Darwin Terril. Interment was in the Dillavou cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in the name... Read More	Eva Marie Buckner, 83, of Scranton, Iowa died at the Greene County Medical Center on January 30, 1997 following a brief illness. Funeral Services for Mrs. Buckner were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 1997 at the Church of Christ in Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating. Casket bearers were Randy Cooklin, Kevin Cooklin, Dan Dillavou, Steven Dillavou, Mitchell Dillavou, Verlin Dillavou and Dale Dillavou. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Mrs. Buckner for Greene County Hospice. She was born on April 29, 1913 at Carrollton and was the daughter of George and Florence (Astelford) Piper. As a young girl she moved to Ralston where she attended school. On December 25, 1929, she was married to Lloyd Dillavou at Ralston, Iowa. The couple farmed in Carroll and Greene counties until Lloyd's death on July 4, 1964. She then moved to Scranton and worked at Shaal's truck stop in Jefferson as the dining room manager until 1975. On March 13, 1969, she married Virgil Buckner at Las Vegas, Nevada. Since then, the couple has lived in Scranton spending the winters in San Juan, Texas. Marie enjoyed quilting at the Scranton Congregate Meals site in Scranton for many years. Survivors include her husband, Virgil of Scranton; a daughter Ilene Cooklin and her husband, Ralph of Princeton, Missouri; three sons: Darwin Dillavou, of Des Moines; Russell Dillavou and his wife, Jean, of Denison; and Glen Dillavou and his wife, Carolyn, of Boone, Iowa; a sister Hazel Kult of Coon Rapids; a half brother, Paul Dillavou of Amarillo, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 gr-gr-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lloyd, three brothers: John, Walter and Clarence and a sister Gladys." [Glidden (IA) Graphic. February 6, 1997. Copied by S. J. Walker]
