She passed away Monday evening, October 15, 2007 at the Attica Long Term Care Facility at the age of 93. She graduated from Harper High School with the class of 1931. Read More	Laura Isabel "Izzy" Mayberry Hoover, daughter of Tilden and Susan (Millard) Mayberry, was born February 3, 1914 in Duquoin, KS. She passed away Monday evening, October 15, 2007 at the Attica Long Term Care Facility at the age of 93. She graduated from Harper High School with the class of 1931. On August 5, 1934, Isabel was united in marriage with Bob Hoover in Harper County and this union was blessed with three daughters, Velda, Gail, and Karen. Isabel and Bob worked together all their lives in various businesses including Hoover Super Service Station, Grocery Store, and Hoover Real Estate Agency. Isabel owned and operated The Yarn Shop for ten years and helped many people learn the art of knitting and crocheting. She was a school bus driver until she retired when she turned 65. But she always thought of herself as a homemaker, wife and mother first and foremost. She was a 72 year member of the Harper United Methodist Church; 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls. Bob passed away April 15, 2003 and she was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Chalcie and Emmett Mayberry; and four sisters: Mildred Bear, Mina Mayberry, and Betty Downey, & Marion Phye. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Velda Walsh, and her husband, Jim Gail Pearl and her husband, Lyle, all of Harper, Karen McDermeit and her husband, Clay of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother, Jack Mayberry of Easton, Kansas; one sister, Velma Williams of Pampa, Texas; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
