Description	:	...Mary Kollmansperger, daughter of Andrew & Jane Kollmansperger, both deceased, was born in Chicago, July 5, 1859. She later lived in Alden Iowa, her father being a blacksmith in Harden county when that community was young. From Alden she went to Roselle Iowa, where on March 30, 1880 she was married to Frank Hoffman. She later lived in Alden Iowa, her father being a blacksmith in Harden county when that community was young. From Alden she went to Roselle Iowa, where on March 30, 1880 she was married to Frank Hoffman. Their marriage took place at Holy Angels church, Roselle Mr. & Mrs. Hoffman established their home on a farm three and one half miles souitheast of where the town of Templeton now stands. It was in the true pioneer days before the railroad was laid in that part of the county, but south of Roselle was a post office, known as the Elba post office, where the farmers received their mail. For 33 years the Hoffman family lived on the same farm. They improved their land and were ambitious, thrifty and successful, ranking among the good, substantial citizens who form the backbone of this community. In 1913, having decided to go west, they sold their farm and in January of the following year moved to Peetz, CO, where they purchased an 800 acre farm, known as the "Pleasant Farm". There they went into the farming and stock raising business. After a residence in CO of 12 years they returned to Carroll County in December, 1925, and lived on a farm west of Carroll until August, 1927, when they moved to Lidderdale to enjoy their days of retirement in that little town. On March 30, 1930, Mr. & Mrs. Hoffman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Lidderdale. Mr. & Mrs. Hoffman were the parents of 14 children.
