Up until the time of the accident, Mrs. Williamson had enjoyed comparatively good health and had only been ill enough for hospitalization a few times in the past decade. Funeral services were conducted at Jay's Funeral Chapel on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. William Whittaker officiating. Mrs. Gwen Bauer was the organist and Mrs. LaNeta Anderson the soloist. Casket bearers were Orval Johnson, Leo Williams, Jim Sutton, D. E. Owens, Bill Bradley and Wayne Ketler. Interment was in the Benkelman Cemetery. Mrs. Williamson was a Dundy county pioneer, coming to the county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Cain, and family in 1886 to homestead in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood northwest of Benkelman. She and her husband, the late George Williamson, resided in Wray, Benkelman and in California and on their farm northwest of Benkelman. Mr. Williamson was a jeweler by trade as well as a farmer and when they sold their ranch in the early 40's, they moved to Benkelman where Mr. Williamson operated a jewelry store until his retirement. Mr. Williamson passed away in 1954. Mrs. Williamson was an authority on the early days of Dundy county and knew the life of the homesteader from personal experience. She was a woman of great energy and even in her last years busied herself in keeping a nice home and a beautiful yard. Her outside interests were principally in support of the Methodist Church activities and a kindly interest in her many friends. Minnie B. Williamson, daughter of T. B. Cain and Mary Jane Kelley, was born March 4, 1875, at Maryville, Missouri, and died on December 24, 1968, at the age of 93 years, nine months and 20 days. She came to Dundy county with her parents in 1886 and lived on a farm, and she attended the Sleepy Hollow School. On March 1, 1898, she was united in marriage to George E. Williamson. They farmed north of Benkelman, and later moved to Benkelman where Mr. Williamson entered the jewelry business. To this union three sons were born: Glenn G., deceased, Donald E., deceased, and Harold of Bountiful, Utah. Her husband preceded her in death in May of 1954. She is survived by sisters: Lillie Higley, Benkelman, Jessee M. Wood, Pueblo, Colo., and a brother, Fred B. Cain, Benkelman; and three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Williamson celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1948. She was a member of the Benkelman United Methodist Church and Circle 2 of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
