Mrs. Stine Larson was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 28, 1827, and died at the home of her son, Rasmus Martin, neat Lamoni, Iowa, on August 28, 1911, at the age of 82 years, 11 months. Mrs. Stine Larson was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 28, 1827, and died at the home of her son, Rasmus Martin, neat Lamoni, Iowa, on August 28, 1911, at the age of 82 years, 11 months. The deceased was married three times in Denmark and was then left a widow. To these unions were born seven children, six of whom are living. Sophia Christensen, of Joplin, Missouri; Peter Larson of Chicago; Mrs. Mary Anderson, of Clay Center, Nebraska; Julius Larson, Chris Sorensen, and Rasmus Martin. Only Mrs. Mary Anderson and Rasmus Martin being present at the funeral, which was held at the residence on Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Bro. A. B. Young, Bro D. D. Young, preaching the sermon. Mrs. Larson came to America about forty years ago with her family and struggled to raise her children and make a living for them. She lived at Streator, Illinois, for fourteen years. She then moved to Topeka, Kansas, where she lived two years. Since leaving Topeka, she has made her home with her son Rasmus, visiting around among her children. Mrs. Larson became a member of the [Reorganized] Latter Day Saint Church about fourteen years ago, being baptized by Joseph Smith at Lamoni. She was a very industrious woman of saving and thrifty habits and had many friends among both old and young. The kindreds of the deceased one wish to employ this means of tendering thanks to their neighbors and friends for their kindness during her sickness. According to the obituaries for her and her son, Erasmus "Rasmus" Martin, she emigrated from Denmark in 1871 with her family. Sometime between 1863 and 1870 her husband Martin died. It is unclear when she married Baus Larson and when he died.
