Born August 16, 1926 in Lynchburg, Va., he had been a longtime Newport News resident before moving to Bracey two years ago. Mr. Conway retired after 21 years of service from the U.S. Army in 1967 as a Master Sergeant. He served his country honorably during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Read More	BRACEY, VA. — Harvey Lee Conway, Jr., 80, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007 at home surrounded by his family. Born August 16, 1926 in Lynchburg, Va., he had been a longtime Newport News resident before moving to Bracey two years ago. Mr. Conway retired after 21 years of service from the U.S. Army in 1967 as a Master Sergeant. He served his country honorably during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He later went on to retire from the BASF Corp. in Williamsburg. He was the Patriarch of the family he loved and who loved him. He was an avid boater, camper, golfer and NASCAR fan. "WORK" was how he spelled "relax" and he will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Conway was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harvey L. Conway, Sr., and Lydia Reva (Childress) Conway, and his first wife, Alease Baldwin Conway. He leaves behind his loving wife, Ruby D. Conway; two sons, Carson L. Conway and Michael H. Conway, both of Newport News; two daughters, Jacqueline Auerbach and Teri Ann Bistarkey, both of Bracey, Va.; nine grandchildren, Bonnie S. Laine, David Michael Beal, Michelle L. Trevino, Dana Marie Avery, Mark Auerbach, Jr., Carson Wayne Conway, Wayne M. Auerbach, Michael Craig Conway and Annah Grace Duff and nine great-grandchildren, Megan A. Laine, Kayleen Rose Trevino, Emily Grace Laine, Jordan Bradley Auerbach, Gavin Bryce Auerbach, Josh Aaron Avery, Jr., and triplets, Payton Brooke, Coen Wayne and McKenna Riley Auerbach. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at Weymouth Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel Wednesday, March 28, by the Rev. Dr. R. Furman Kenney. Interment with full military honors will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will also receive friends at the home of Carson Conway, 11 Rugby Drive, Newport News.
