He was a member of the board of directors of South Carolina National Bank, president of Allied Credit Company, a member of the Lions Club and of Harpers Lodge No. 255, AFM. He was a member of Andrews Baptist Church, the board of deacons and teacher of the men's Bible class. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Porter Blakeley; a son, M. Lee Blakeley Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Kay B. Jones and Mrs. Sandra B. Rabon; six grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. Gladys Turner Blakeley; a brother, John M. Blakeley Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Earle (Kathleen) Green; a half brother, Harris Blakeley; and a half sister, Mrs. William (Geneva) Woodbury. Funeral services were Sunday, January 5, 1969, in Andrews Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
