Description	:	Murel E. Beaver, age 81, died August 22, 2006 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born June 28, 1925 in Farmington Arkansas to Loss W and Minnie Swopes Beaver. He married Joan McGee May 27, 1951 in Memphis Missouri. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 106th Infantry Division and was in Belguim during the Battle of the Bulge. Beaver, age 81, died August 22, 2006 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born June 28, 1925 in Farmington Arkansas to Loss W and Minnie Swopes Beaver. He married Joan McGee May 27, 1951 in Memphis Missouri. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 106th Infantry Division and was in Belguim during the Battle of the Bulge. He had been a resident of Bloomfield since 1951 and was a lineman for the REC in Bloomfield for several years. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield. He was a 58 year member and Past Master of Ottumwa Lodge #16 AF & AM and Franklin Lidge #14 AF & AM in Bloomfield. He was also a District Lecturer and Past Junior Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Iowa AF & AM. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kelly Beaver of Bloomington Illinois and Kevin Beaver of Hobart Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and a sister Sybil Smith of Tulsa Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Keith Beaver; and a sister, Loss Ann McNeal. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday August 26, 2006 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial with graveside military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. A memorial has been established to the Davis County Boys Little League. Music; vocalist, Wayne Van Mersbergen, songs, Danny Boy and The Lords Prayer; pianist, Karen Spargur. Casket Bearers; Larry Oaks, Gerald York, Jerry Kincart, Bill Bassett, Robert Weaklen and Jeff Kincart. Taken from the North West Arkansas Times, August 28, 1945; "Two Northwest Arkansas men are members of the 106th Infantry Division of the Seveneth Army which last December took the brunt of the Nazi attack in the Ardennes and held out for two days and two nights against German divisions, long enough to save the Belguim Bulge from becoming a decisive Nazi victory. They are Sgt. Murel E. Beaver of Farmington and Pfc. Henry W. Mitchell of Route 3, Springdale."
