She attended country school and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. She married Paul De Groot on August 11-1963. Muriel was a gifted pianist and had a great love of music. She taught music and grade school at various schools in the area and finished her 25+year teaching career in the Ralston Public System. After retiring from teaching, Muriel managed a craft store in the Bellevue area for many years. She was a long time member... Read More	Muriel Mae was born on the family farm to Gerrit and Sophia Koerselman. She attended country school and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. She married Paul De Groot on August 11-1963. Muriel was a gifted pianist and had a great love of music. She taught music and grade school at various schools in the area and finished her 25+year teaching career in the Ralston Public System. After retiring from teaching, Muriel managed a craft store in the Bellevue area for many years. She was a long time member of Westwood Church where she was the director of the church choir, the bell choir, an avid pianist and organist and involved in many other activities within her church community. Her music will continue to paly on the hearts and minds of all her knew her. In addition to her love of music, she loved spending time with family and friends, doing puzzles, traveling and crafts.
