Murland Henry Sanne was born in Tilden on March 4, 1920 to August L. F. and Anna (Borchers) Sanne, Jr. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Tilden High School in 1938. After graduation, he drove truck for various concerns until joining the Army Air Force in December 1942. He served as a clerk typist attaining the rank of Sergeant and was discharged in February 1946. He owned and operated Sanne Feed Store until becoming a rural mail carrier, and retired after 32 years of service. He was united in marriage with Treva Wilson on December 19, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. To this union, three daughters were born. Treva preceded him in death in June of 1990. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Bargman on May 23, 1992. She preceded him in death in March of 2008. Murland was a member and state delegate to the National Rural Mail Carriers Association. He was also a member of, and held office in the State Association. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #170. He spent many years as a snow bird, wintering in Weslaco, TX. Murland is survived by his daughters; two half brothers and two half sisters; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; brothers, Leonard, Virgil, Norbert, and Burdiss; and a sister, Shirley Climie.
