Description	:	Myra Iola Emmiline Stanley was born to James C. and Eva May (Ballard) Fithian on November 7, 1921 at Wabash, NE. She grew up on the family farm near Vesta, NE where she was one of eight children. After her schooling at Vesta Public Schools, Myra was married to Lawrence Hardy at Glenwood, IA. To this union three children were born. Lawrence and Myra moved to a farm east of Sidney in 1945. Lawrence passed away October 1961. Myra then married Phillip Stanley at Sidney, IA January 1964. Read More	Myra Iola Emmiline Stanley was born to James C. and Eva May (Ballard) Fithian on November 7, 1921 at Wabash, NE. She grew up on the family farm near Vesta, NE where she was one of eight children. After her schooling at Vesta Public Schools, Myra was married to Lawrence Hardy at Glenwood, IA. To this union three children were born. Lawrence and Myra moved to a farm east of Sidney in 1945. Lawrence passed away October 1961. Myra then married Phillip Stanley at Sidney, IA January 1964. Phillip passed away November 1978. Myra continued to live on the farm east of Sidney until moving to town in 2005. In the last two years she resided with her son Wayne west of Sidney. Myra worked many years at the American Meter plant in Nebraska City, retiring early to care for her parents in her home. Myra worked at Hardy's Hardware for many years as well. She loved to bowl with friends during their weekly league, horseback riding, fishing and other outdoor activities. She was a member of the Waubonsie Saddle Club and a member of the United Methodist Church. Preceding Myra in death were her parents, husband Lawrence, husband Phillip, and longtime companion Kenneth Mattes, step-son Jack Stanley, three brothers George, Lyle, and Floyd Fithian and three sisters Mabel Julifs, Ruby Bates, and Betty Huskey. She is survived by her son Wayne Hardy of Sidney, IA, daughter Alexandra Hardy-Shamaya of Pie Town, NM and daughter Shirley Flack and husband Keith Flack of Tarkio, MO, step-son Tom Stanley and wife Camile of Auburn, NE, and step-son Rick Stanley and wife Charlene of Glenwood, IA, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren, sister Violet Lytle of Riesel, TX, nieces, nephews and many friends.
