Read More	Myreta Smock, 21, died at her home near Edgar Sunday after a protracted, illness. Miss Myreta was well known in Edgar and the surrounding vicinity, having been a graduate of Edgar High School. Funeral, services were held Tuesday afternoon. Myreta Agnes Smock was born at Edgar, Nebraska, August 4, 1911, and passed away at her home two miles north and two miles west of Ong, on December 25, 1932, at the age of 21 years, 4 months and 21 days. , Myreta was the last of three children and the only daughter, born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Smock. She is survived by her widowed mother, two brothers, Lester F. of Fairfield and Howard Glen of Edgar, who is remaining at home with his mother. Myreta is also survived by both of her grandmothers, Mrs. Nancy Alkire of Elm Creek, age 87, and Mrs. Sarah Smock of Winona, Ill age 80. It was in February, 1903, that Mr. and Mrs. Smock were married and established their home upon the same premises where the family now reside, experiencing the joys and sorrows incident to making a home. December 4, 1927, the departed was preceded by her father. Since then she was, especially after her graduation from high school, an inseparable; companion of her mother. Only on rare occasions would she leave the parental home. Myreta graduated from the Edgar High School with the Class of 1929. She was of a very amiable disposition and easily made friends, whom are numbered by the scores, At the age of 18 she became a member of the Logan Rebekah lodge of Ong. Early in life she took a keen interest in Sunday school and church. and at the age of 14 she became a member of the Christian Church in Edgar. This Christian fellowship she enjoyed until her physical condition made it impossible for her to attend. Through all her sickness she exercised her faith with fortitude and patiently bore her suffering without complaint, until God in his great mercy saw fit to relieve her. Funeral services were held, first briefly, in the home then in the Christian Church in Edgar, Tuesday afternoon, December 27. Because of the illness of the pastor, Rev. Schrader, Rev. J. M. Herrmann of Ong had charge of the Service. Misses Gladys and Margaret Wagar, Mrs. Mirth Cline, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jacobsen and A. A. Recht sang words of comfort and hope, singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "No Night There" and "Going Down the Valley" Mrs. Imogene Messler was pianist. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
