Description	:	Myrna Kokemiller, 73, of 804 Marion Street in Boone passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Wednesday afternoon, May 26, 2010. She was born on July 12, 1936 in Story City, Iowa the daughter of Skjold and Cecelia (Rorvig) Kilstofte. On June 14, 1959, she married Virgil Kokemiller at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. She was born on July 12, 1936 in Story City, Iowa the daughter of Skjold and Cecelia (Rorvig) Kilstofte. On June 14, 1959, she married Virgil Kokemiller at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. The couple lived in Stratford until June of 1972, when they moved to Boone. Myrna graduated from McCallsburg High School, received her Teacher Certificate from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa and a Bachelor of Art Degree in Education from Drake University. She taught Kindergarten for 6 years and was a Remedial Reading Teacher for 30 years at the Stratford Community School before retiring. Myrna enjoyed cooking, baking, loved to read and was a caretaker of family and friends. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church where she actively served and volunteered where needed and was WELCA's representative for the Friends of the Madrid Home. Her parents and 2 brothers, Don and Ray Kilstofte, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Virgil of Boone; 2 daughters Carmen Kokemiller and Connie Kokemiller both of Boone; nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday morning, June 1st at 11:00 a.m. at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone with Pastor Daniel Solomon officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Friends may call at the Church on Tuesday morning prior to the service from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
