Description	:	Myrna Rae Whitley was born at Lennox, South Dakota on Jan. 27, 1956, the daughter of Martin and Evylin (DeVries) Symens. She grew to womanhood on a farm south of Lennox where she attended rural school and was a graduate of Lennox High School in 1974. She was employed as a bank teller at First National Bank in Sioux Falls, SD. On January 24, 1982 Myrna was united in marriage to Max Whitley at Delaware Reformed Church of rural Lennox. Read More	Myrna Rae Whitley was born at Lennox, South Dakota on Jan. 27, 1956, the daughter of Martin and Evylin (DeVries) Symens. She grew to womanhood on a farm south of Lennox where she attended rural school and was a graduate of Lennox High School in 1974. She was employed as a bank teller at First National Bank in Sioux Falls, SD. On January 24, 1982 Myrna was united in marriage to Max Whitley at Delaware Reformed Church of rural Lennox. Following their marriage they lived north of Lennox for two years. In June of 1984 they moved to Hot Springs, SD. She had been a bank teller in Hot Springs and more recently was a billing clerk at the Veterans Hospital there. Due to her illness they moved back to Lennox in February of 1987. She was a member of Delaware Reformed Church of rural Lennox. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Symens, on July 28, 1981 and one nephew, Joel Martin Beninga, on Oct. 17, 1980. Following an illness of nine months, Myrna died at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls on May 19, 1987. She attained the age of 31 years, three months and 22 days. Surviving are her widower, Max; two sons; Casey Jay, three years of age, and Clint Alan, who is six months old; her mother Evylin Symens of Lennox; three sisters: Mrs. Don (Verlys) Van Roekel of Lansing, Mich.; Mrs Les (Neva) Arp of Jefferson, IA and Mrs. Merlin (Avis) Beninga of Brookings; her grandmother, Nellie Symens of Lennox; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Wilva Whitley of Sioux Falls; one brother-in-law Troy Whitley of Yankton; two sisters-in-law; Mrs Bill (Crystal) Ziegler of Galesburg, IL, and Marlene Butler of Santa Monica, CA.
