Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Myron was born in New Salem on Feb. 11, 1929, the son of George and Alma (Becker) Conitz. He attended Moltzen rural school and went on to graduate from New Salem High School in 1946. Myron farmed with his Dad and brother, Gordon, at Blue Grass. He bought a farm in Oliver County and ranched and farmed there. He married Evelyn Lonning on June 19, 1953. They had two sons, Clifford (born on Aug. 17, 1954) and Greg (born on Feb. 24, 1957. Greg married Allison Pettross and they have three children, Gregory, age 11 and Tess and Erin, age 7. Myron owned an airplane, a three passenger super cruiser in the '50s. He loved to fly and until his last days enjoyed memories of his flying days. He was on the rural school board and for the Bismarck District in Oliver County. Myron enjoyed working in Hysham, Mont., during 1960-61, where he hauled sugar beets while his wife taught school in Hysham. Myron and Evelyn traveled quite a bit to many states in the U.S. and also to Norway, Mexico and Canada. Since their son, Greg, was a pilot for American Eagle Airlines, they were able to travel more extensively. Myron enjoyed raising Polled Hereford cattle, making hay, farming and just living on the land. In 2008, Myron and Evelyn moved to Elm Crest Assisted Living. It was a very tough winter with 100 inches of snow so they enjoyed apartment life. Myron always tried to help those residents in Elm Crest who needed a push with the wheel chair or just a good little visit. Myron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn, New Salem; his son, Greg (Allison), Julian, Calif.; his grandchildren, Tess, Erin and Gregory Conitz; his sister, Doris Gilligan, Billings, Mont.; his brothers-in-law, Gordon (Viola) Lonning, Bismarck, and Frank Pratt, Billings; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clifford, who died in 1979; and his brother, Gordon Conitz.
