Myron “Mike” Delbert Tullberg was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Wakefield, to Axel and Sigrid (Moline) Tullberg. He grew up on a farm near Wakefield. Mike was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Wakefield. He attended Lincoln School District #87 and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948. He entered the Army in 1952 and remained in the Army Reserves until 1961. He married Gwendonna Murfin Dec. 26, 1951. They were married for 30 years. The couple began farming near Martinsburg and later moved to Wakefield, where he farmed and worked at the Milton G. Waldbaum Company until 1982. Myron moved to Norfolk before settling in Lyons. He was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran church. He worked at Logan Valley Manor for many years, and then at the Lyons-Decatur Northeast School until his retirement in 2005. He moved back to Wakefield and lived at the Wakefield Health Care Center and later moved to Premier Estates, Wayne. He enjoyed farming, gardening and most of all, spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his five children, Linda and husband, Monty Granfield, Randolph; Diane and husband, Mike Row, Bruning; Dennis and wife, Melia Tullberg, Wayne; Connie and husband, David Herbster, Sabetha, Kan.; and Gary and wife, Michelle Tullberg, Lenox, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Delores Lehman, Wakefield; brother, Paul Tullberg, Schuyler; and sister-in-law Mila Tullberg, Elk Point, S.D. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald, and an infant brother, Weldon; and one granddaughter, Brenna Herbster.
