Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Valerie Heller of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Myron Glen Burns was born Aug. 17, 1940, to Lloyd G. and Marie (Krause) Burns in Sac City, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963 and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1973 of Sioux City. He married JoAnn McKnight on Feb. 12, 1964. He worked as a truck driver for several companies including Hirschbach Motor Lines of South Sioux City. Active in the church community, he was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Wendte and her husband, Michael, of South Sioux City and Phyllis Stanley and her husband, Lee, of Sergeant Bluff; two stepdaughters, SueAnn Merchant of Danbury, Iowa and Teri Twyford of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Sandra Seibold and her husband, David, of Sioux City and Theresa Flatgard of Appleton, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Burns, Scott Gaul, Barbara Miller, Thomas Miller, Michael Burns, Debra Burns, Alexa Burns and Brandon Stanley; several step-grandchildren; and special ex-son-in-law, Jerry "Bud" Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Glen Burns; two brothers; and five sisters. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Gaul, Tom Miller, Mike Burns, Terry Bergenske, Russ Bergenske and Ed Bergenske Jr.
