Moody said in a sermon, "Some day you will read in the papers that Dwight L. Moody of East Northfield is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body." These words may be used with equal assurnace and fitness of Myron Oliver Story who lived and labored for 44 years in the midst of his fellow men in Fremont county, Iowa. Myron Oliver Story was born three and one-half miles southeast of Sidney, December 1, l865; and departed this life at his home in Sidney on Janmuary 28, l920. He was married to Miss Lu Ella Norvel of Sidney, Iowa, December 4, l889. Three children were born to this union: namely, Charles who departed this life a litte over one year ago; Ruby and Clancy, both of whom still reside at home. For several years "Ol" Story as he was commonly known, was in business both in Sidney and in Riverton. His honesty and his accommodating ways won him multiplied friends, who in due time urged him to become a candidate for the county treasurer's office. To this office he was first elected a little over five years ago. He was serving this office at the time of his death, having been twice re-elected. "Ol" Story was converted when a young man, and at once joined the Methodist Episcopal church of which he was a faithful member ever thereafter. At the time of his death and a number of years before that time he was an esteemed and useful member of the official board of the local Methodist church. With him religion was infintely more than a profession. He lived to do unto others as he would have them to do unto him. His faith in the promises of God, and a full and feee salvation in Christ Jesus was unshaken. For weeks and months he had lived on the borderland between life and death. These days were spent in prayer, in the study of God's holy word, and in witnessing to the goodness and mercy of God. His was a victorious life and a triumphant death. He also was a member in good standing of the local lodge of the Knights of Pythias and the Modern Woodmen of America. He is mourned by his wife and two living children: his aged mother, Mrs. Emily Story who lives southeast of Sidney: three brothers, namely, Preston, Fred and Will, all of whom reside in our midst: and a circle of other relatives, friends and neighbors that count up into the hundreds. "He has gone from our sight! But because life and love are stronger than death, he is ours still. The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon from the Methodist church, They were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Raoul R. Moser, who was assisted by Rev. Elmer Hoff, pastor of the Pentescostal Mission church. The burial took place in the Sidney cemetery. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to all of the bereaved ones. We rejoice that they need not mourn as they who are without hope.
