The many beautiful floral offerings were arranged by the floral committee of the church, Mrs. J. C. Christy and Mrs. R. E. Torry. They, and other offerings in her memory, were silent testimonials of the love and esteem felt for a fine wife, devoted mother and sincere friend. Leslie Henderson sang "Good Night Here, Good Morning Over There". Mrs. Norman C. Dobson was at the organ. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Obituary of Mrs. Hubbard The following brief life history of the deceased was prepared and read by the officiating minister: Myrtle Bell Brunton was born February 7, 1880, the first child of James and Dora Brunton who lived south of Marshalltown. Her next home was north of Marshalltown and there to a neighbor and school friend, James T. Hubbard, she was married on May 18, 1898. They purchased his father's farm, where they lived, with the exception of one year in Boise, Idaho, until they moved to their farm southeast of Nevada in 1910. They retired and moved to the present home, 605 Eighth street, on her birthday in 1944. Mrs. Hubbard was a wonderful homemaker to her death, on Monday morning, Aug. 29, 1949. Six sons and two daughters, besides her husband, cherish the memories of her marvelous care of them and their families in all kinds of experiences through all the years. All the children are present to comfort the lonely husband and father. The six sons are Glen, Ray and Harold of near Nevada, Carl of Maxwell, Lyle of Eldora and Eldon of Riverside, Calif. (In keeping with plans made by their parents these sons are serving as pall bearers today. The two daughters are Eva (Mrs. P. O. Hastings of Long Beach, Calif. and Ina (Mrs. Merton Zeisset of Enid, Okla. There are eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Hubbard is survived also by her devoted sister, Mrs. A. F. Estel of Marshalltown and twin brothers of Shellrock, Sask., Canada, whom Mr. and Mrs. Hubbard visited just two months ago. There are many other relatives and hosts of friends who remain to cherish her memory. She will live on in the lives of her family, inspiring faithful family love, care of home, honesty, thrift and diligence. All the families were present last year to honor the Golden Wedding Anniversary. The parental home has always been the center of very frequent family gatherings. Mother Hubbard had been converted as a young girl and with her husband were members of Central Christian church of Marshalltown until they moved to Story county. Her place of worship was in First Methodist church of Nevada and her children appreciate her encouragement in Christian virtue." From Out Of Town All the children were present at the funeral services, the son Eldon and daughter Eva flying here for the service from California and the daughter Ina coming from Enid, Oklahoma. Mrs. A. E. Estel of Marshalltown, sister of the deceased, was also among the out of town relatives in attendance at the last rites.
