Description	:	Bishopville - Myrtle Bishop Hickman, age 99, of Bishopville died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Berlin Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Viola Quillen Bishop and the late David Pasher Bishop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cashar James Hickman and her sister, Mildred Bishop West. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hickman Venable (Bill) of Bishopville; her granddaughter, Ellen Venable Passwater (Michael) of Gainesville, Fla.; her great-grandsons, Matthew Passwater (Chelsea) of Greenville, N.C. and Thomas Passwater of Syracuse, N.Y.; two great-great-grandchildren, Audrey and Jamison Passwater of Greenville. She is also survived... Read More	Bishopville - Myrtle Bishop Hickman, age 99, of Bishopville died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Berlin Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Viola Quillen Bishop and the late David Pasher Bishop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cashar James Hickman and her sister, Mildred Bishop West. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hickman Venable (Bill) of Bishopville; her granddaughter, Ellen Venable Passwater (Michael) of Gainesville, Fla.; her great-grandsons, Matthew Passwater (Chelsea) of Greenville, N.C. and Thomas Passwater of Syracuse, N.Y.; two great-great-grandchildren, Audrey and Jamison Passwater of Greenville. She is also survived by her half-sister, Carol Parsons (Richard) of Salisbury and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Bishopville where she taught Sunday School for 60 years and was a teacher for the Vacation Bible School. She also was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary and the Tuesday Morning Bible Study. In 2011 she was named a Gem of Worcester County by the Worcester County Commission for Women. She had worked with her husband at the former Milford Tractor Co. in Selbyville and the English Diner in Ocean City. A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 7 at the Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Bishopville Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing will be mandatory and seating will be limited. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Rita Pace, 10011 Mason Road, Berlin, MD 21811 or to Diakonia, Inc., 12747 Old Bridge Road, Ocean City, MD 21842.
