Description	:	Daughter of Hans and Martha (Teng) Leschinsky. She was united in marriage to John Buhrman, April 7, 1937, in Grand Island. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1961. Survivors of the immediate family include two sisters, Marge Townsend of Lynnwood, Wash., and Velma Stewart of Grand Island; and a nephew she raised, Tom Metcalf. Additional survivors include several other nieces and nephews. At the age of two, she moved into St. Libory where her parents owned a General Merchandise and Hardware Store, (H.F. Leschinsky - The Pioneer Store). She attended District 41 School until the 6th grade, due to the school closing. She graduated from the St. Libory Catholic Parochial School with the Class of 1924. Following graduation, she did housekeeping for an area family. While living in St. Libory, she was chief operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and also worked for the Oscar Riemers family for three generations. The couple made their home west of St. Libory on a farm where they had a dairy operation for several years. In 1961, they relocated into town due to John's failing health. She continued to reside in St. Libory until moving to Grand Island in 1984. She also did waitress work for local cafes. After the tornado in 1984, she resided at Chrysalis Homes in Grand Island and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a member of the St. Libory Catholic Church, the Platt Deutsche and enjoyed reading. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Arnold, Ervin and Elmer, two sisters, Lorraine Wissing and Alice Southard.
