She was raised and educated near Farley, Iowa, where she attended rural school. Myrtle was united in marriage to Paul J. Krogmann on February 6, 1934, at Sand Spring, Iowa. Three sons were born to this union. Together they farmed south of Petersburg over the years. In 1979, they retired, but remained on the farm. Paul died August 10, 1996 and Myrtle moved to Manchester. Myrtle was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a past-member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Myrtle loved her family. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and making quilts for the missions. Survivors include three sons, Paul Jr. (Rosemary) Krogmann of Manchester, James (Marian) Krogmann of Masonville, and Jerome "Jerry" (Rose Ann) Krogmann of Manchester; twenty-nine grandchildren; seventy-one great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Herman "Bud" Wilgenbusch of Manchester; six sisters, Gladys Kirby of Cascade, Rose Britt of Delhi, Mary Lauersdorf of Manchester, Laura (Art) Feldmann of Hopkinton, Elsie (Bill) Ries of Cascade, and Alice (Bob) Kirpes of Dubuque; and one sister-in-law, Rita Wilgenbusch of Monticello. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two grandsons, John Krogmann and Charles Krogmann; one great-granddaughter, Kaye Krogmann; three sisters, Mable Guthrie, Viola Trumm and Ethel Kenny; two brothers, John Wilgenbusch, and Thomas Wilgenbusch; and her parents.
