Mrs. Johansen, 72, died Wednesday in the Lutheran hospital after a six month illness. The daughter of Elias and Gacy Bost, she was born July 28, 1887, in Hillsboro, Ill. On March 29, 1907, she and Hans Abraham Johansen were married in Osceola. They lived on three farms about nine miles north of Shelby before moving to Columbus where they were members of the Methodist church. The couple had eight children, Kenneth of Columbus, Howard of Los Angeles, Mrs. Lucille Egger and Mrs. Walter (Alice) Egger of Downey, Calif., Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Hartley of Lincoln, Mrs. Merle (Betty) Simonsma of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph (Grace) Bargas of Wiesbaden, Germany. One son, Jack E., died on October 2, 1956, and her husband died on March 6, 1945. In addition to her seven children, twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive Mrs. Johansen.
