Description	:	From Benson County Farmers Press, March 8, 2000, page 12. The funeral for Myrtle Bergrud, 94, of New Rockford was held on March 3 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bremen. Burial was in the Bremen Cemetery. She died Feb. 28, 2000 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. Rev. Chris Anderson & Rev. Neil Lindorff officiated. Becky Anderson & Nancy Bollingberg were vocalists, accompanied by Joyce Pranke, organist. Her other grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren were honorary pallbearers. The Evans Funeral Home of New Rockford was in charge of arrangements. Myrtle Geneva Bergrud was born on Nov. 7, 1905 at Hamberg to Andrew & Emma Erickson Simonson. She grew up there & attended country school. She was confirmed at the Viking Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. On Dec. 10, 1924 she married Melvin Bergrud at Fessenden. They lived & farmed near Bremen until retiring in 1980. He died May 16, 1990. She moved to Sheyenne in 1990 & entered the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford on Oct. 19, 1995. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church & its ladies aid & a former member of Eden Lutheran Church. She enjoyed growing flowers & making doughnuts. Survivors include 5 sons & daughters-in-law, Raymond & Bernice Bergrud of Grand Forks, Dennis & Vonoie Bergrud of Sheyenne, Eddie & Jeanette Bergrud of Grants Pass, Ore., Larry & Julie Bergrud of Cedar Rapids, Iowa & Gerald & Kathy Bergrud of Brighton, Colo.; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Minerva & elmer Faul of Cathay, Arlene & John Klocke of New Rockford & Norma Kolstad of Sheyenne; 35 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; & 3 sisters & brothers-in-law, Viola & Herb Erdelbrock of New Rockford, Verna & Frank Risovi of Harvey & Edna Hanson of Karlstad, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 daughters, Violet Bergrud & Lorine Ystaas; 3 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Alvin, Norton, Lawrence & Edgar Simonson; & a sister, Blenda Nyhusmoen.
