Cole home in Woodbine, where she stayed until September 1914, when she was united in marriage to Fank Burns. Read More	PARENTS Patrick Burns Alice Jane Bendon OBITUARY Kathleen Burns was born October 21,1895 near Altoona, Pa. and died May 12, 1923, aged 27 years, 6 months and 21 days.She moved to Iowa with her family in September, 1912, and shortly afterwards came to the E.E. Cole home in Woodbine, where she stayed until September 1914, when she was united in marriage to Fank Burns. To this union three children were born: Alice, aged 5 years; Dorothy, aged 3 years: and baby Jack, aged 11 months. While not very robust in health she was always actively engaged in the duties of her home, her community, and her church, until Tuesday, May 9, five days before her death, when she became violently ill from an acute attack of appendicitis. Following an operation at her home she seemed to rally, and those near and dear to her were hopeful for her recovery, until Saturday afternoon when she began to grow worse, and in spite of all that medical shill and loving friends could do, she peacefully passed away, Sunday morning at six o'clock. The funeral services were held in the Sacred Heart church at Woodbine, conducted by her pastor, Father Ligutti, who paid the highest tribute to the exemplary christian life she had lived, and the resignation with which she submitted to God's will, as she believed it to be in all things. the esteem in which she was held was further manifested by the large number of friends, who, in spite of the inclement weather, accompanied her body to its last resting place, Mt Hope cemetery, Dunlap. Besides her husband and her three little children, she leaves to mourn her untimely death, her mother, two sisters, and five brothers.
