Interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry. Myrtle Barker was born July 25, 1896, at Fayette, Iowa. She married Henry Arthur Bartlett at West Union, Iowa, in 19121 and they came to North Dakota in 1920. They lived at Juanita and McHenry before moving to New Rockford in 1962. He died in 1964. She had been a resident of the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford for the last year. Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Ingvold (Eva) Aaker, Glenfield, Mrs. Katherine DeMarce, Sumner, Wash., Mrs. Harold (Donna) Ihlan, Tacoma, Wash.; sons, Keith, Glenfield, Clifford, Tahuya, Wash., Lyle and Howard, both Renton, Wash., and Leo, Auburn, Wash.; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mable, of California. Evans-Knott Funeral Home, New Rockford. Published in the Foster County Independent, Carrington, North Dakota September 5, 1979. In 1914, Henry and Myrtle were married at West Union, Iowa. They and five children came to North Dakota in 1920 and farmed near Juanita, later moving to McHenry. Henry worked for Archie Campbell for 10 years, retiring in 1957. The couple had nine children; Eugene (Buck), Clifford, Lyle, Eva, Kathyren, Howard, Leo, Donna, and Arthur (Keith). Henry died March 11, 1964, and Myrtle died August 28, 1979. Both are buried in Bethlehem Cemetery. Published in the McHenry North Dakota history book 1899-1999. P. 97.
