Description	:	Nada Peck, 87, of Platte, SD passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Platte Care Center. Nada Elaine (Sly) (Voetberg) Peck was born on February 11, 1925 in Platte, SD to Rex Vernon and Mattie Roxanna (Carter) Sly. Read More	Nada Peck, 87, of Platte, SD passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Platte Care Center. Nada Elaine (Sly) (Voetberg) Peck was born on February 11, 1925 in Platte, SD to Rex Vernon and Mattie Roxanna (Carter) Sly. After graduating from Platte High School in 1943, she completed Cosmetology School in Omaha, NE and went on to open her own beauty shop in Platte at the Lyric Theatre. On February 24, 1947 she was united in marriage to Ralph B. Voetberg, to this union six children were born. In 1950 they bought the Gambles Store in Beresford, SD, which they ran for five years before returning to Platte to a farm NE of town. During this time they also boarded hunters and she worked at Robinson Lodge. Ralph B. became ill in 1966 and in 1972 they moved into Platte where Nada ran The Kraftee Korner out of their home. After purchasing the former Cool Beauty Shop, she relocated her craft shop to Main Street in 1977. She was an avid bowler and in the early 70's, her bowling skills earned her trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii. Nada was united in marriage to James LeRoy Peck on June 15, 1981. Together they operated motel and restaurant businesses in Las Vegas, Arizona and Yankon. One of their favorite modes of transportation was their motorcycle, which they enjoyed very much. Upon retiring, they settled in Springfield, SD until coming back to Platte in 1994 where Nada continued making crafts until her passing. Nada was preceded in death by: two husbands: Ralph B. Voetberg and Jim Peck; an infant son; a son, Rex Edward Voetberg ; a granddaughter, Leanne (Gant) Foster; her parents, Rex V. and Mattie R. Sly; and two brothers: Gerald Vernon and Rex Allen Sly.
