Nadine Lucille Boyd, age 88 of Leon, Iowa,the daughter of James Henry and Ellen Lona(sic, s/b Lenora)[Owens] Marsengill, was born June 8, 1924 in Harrison County, Oklahoma. She died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Nadine's family moved frequently while she was young. They lived in Oklahoma before Woodland, High Point, and Garden Grove, Iowa, Mercer, Missouri after the death of her father. They moved back to Woodland and then to Leon, Iowa where she met Warren Grant Boyd. They were married on September 18, 193 when she was 16 years old. They were blessed with five children, Louellen Ann, Janet Marie, Warren Lee, Danny Lewis, Terry Lynn. While the children were small, Nadine was a homemaker and mother. She started working at Decatur county Hospital as a nurse's aide on August 1, 1966. The patients and her co-workers all loved her. One of the doctors referred to her as "Aunt Edna". She retired in 1989, but returned part time for seven years, leaving again on May 22, 1996, due to her health. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, and loved eating watermelon. In her younger days she enjoyed quilting. Nadine loved her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and sharing her wisdom and life lessons, and they in turn enjoyed listening! Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Warren on August 24, 2000; son Warren Lee Boyd on January 8, 2009; and grandson Joshua Boyd in April 1970. survivors include her loving children, Louellen & Larry Eastin, Janet & Wayne Richman, Danny & Nancy Boyd, and Terry & Jeanne Boyd, all of Leon; daughter -in-law Cindy Boyd of Decatur, Iowa; grandchildren: Coleen Wright, Dennis & Amy Eastin; Debbie & Allen Norman, Mike & Mary Richman, Jeff Boyd and companion Darlene Shepherd; Nathan & Brandi Boyd, Damon & Melanie Boyd, Johnny & Lisa Boyd, Tabatha & Brett Carney, Matt & Michelle Boyd, Nicci & Joey Gregg, Amy & Charley Burch, and Holly & Josh Hysell; great grandchildren: Estelle & Charles Schmaltz, Rachael Smith and friend John Wolfe, Tony & Carrie Young, Emma Eastin, Trenton & fiance Ashley Finnegan, Cassie Norman, Adam Richman, Ally Richman, Grant, Blake, and Sloan Boyd, Emilee Boyd, Amber & Keil Miller, Kennedy, Meridan, and Benjamin Boyd, Brycen, Tyler, and Mackenzie Carney, Sadie, Ansley and Lyndon Boyd, Ashton, Kaylee, Ledger, and Tucker Gregg, Michael and Levi Burch, and Ty and Ella Nadine Hysell; great, great grandchildren, Hunter, Mason and Maggie Young; sister Betty Spidle of Garden Grove, Iowa; nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Latasha; and other relatives and many friends.
