Description	:	Private services for Nadine Schaffer, 82, of Norfolk, were held this morning at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Reverend Leon Rosenthal officiated. Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schaffer died at 10:20 a.m., January 31, 2012 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. A memorial service is pending. Nadine was born August 20, 1929, in Norfolk, to Frank and Hattie (Ahlman) Pentico. She attended country school in Pierce County. At sixteen she became a nurse's aide at the old Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk and found a calling in health care that would last her whole life. She married the love of her life, Gilbert Schaffer, on November 11, 1947, and began a life partnership that would last 44 years until his death in 1992. Gib and Nadine owned and operated the Skyline Motel on North 13th in Norfolk for many years. Nadine is survived by her three children, Carol McRae of Scottsdale, Arizona; Glen Schaffer (Theresa Bueltel) of Carlsbad, California; and Dyan Nuttelmann of Norfolk, Nebraska. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Grant, Elizabeth, Becca, John Michael, Andy, Stephanie, and Katie; and six great grandchildren; Rachel, Savannah, Lauren, Sloan, Talon, and Pepper. Nadine is also survived by her sister, Delma Smith of Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Muriel Oestreich; and two brothers, Eldred Pentico and Cliff Pentico.
