She is preceded in death by one great grandson: Nolan Parker; one brother: Samuel Barto; two sisters: Joyce Core and Ruth (Paul) Schumacher. Mrs. Shafer was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1960. She had worked at and retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. of Lima. Nancy was also a partner in and worked at Shafer's Meat Market, Lima. She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church and the Women's Society of the Church. She was a member of the "Round Table" at Biggie's Restaurant in Cairo. Nancy enjoyed family gatherings and get togethers with former classmates. Her greatest pleasure was spoiling her grandkids. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Ruth Ann Scoby will officiate with burial to follow in Altstaetter Cemetery
