Miss Nancy McBride was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, eighty-two years ago. She came to America when a young woman and was married to John Beatty in Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Beatty came to Iowa and located in Cedar Rapids forty-eight years ago. After a brief residence in this city they moved to the place in Benton county that has since been the family home. Mr. Beatty died thirty years ago. Both were members of the United Presbyterian church and were among the first members of that denomination in eastern Iowa. Surviving the parents are two sons and three daughters. A daughter, Mrs. Jessie Miller of Orchard, Neb., died three years ago. Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, resided at Orchard, Neb. Mrs. Anna McClellan and Miss Aggie Beatty in Benton county. James resides in Orchard, Neb., and Thomas in Benton county. Mrs. Beatty was a most excellent woman. Her death is deeply mourned.
