Mrs. Turner died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. C. LeRoy, 14 William St., American Spinning Company at 6:30 a.m. yesterday after a long illness. She was a native of Travelers Rest and a daughter of the late Fate and Ada Cooper Lafoy. In early life she came to Greenville and lived in the Mills Mill community for 25 years before moving to the American Spinning Company. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Her husband, John Turner, died 17 years ago. She is survived by seven sons, J. B. Turner, Pelzer, B. W. Turner, W. O. Turner, J. E. Turner, T. R. Turner and J. R. Turner, Greenville, J. D. Turner Six Mile; five daughters, Mrs. J. C. Hayes, Easley, Mrs. Bessie Edge, Mrs. E. A. Buckner, Mrs. E. B. Waldrop, and Mrs. H. C. LeRoy, Greenville; 48 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; her step-mother, Mrs. Laura Young, Pickens; one brother, J. H. Lafoy, Greenville; one half-brother, D. C. Lafoy, Greenville; three half-sisters, Mrs. J. D. Hayes and Mrs. O. A. Breazeale, Pickens, and Mrs. Garvin Clark, Travelers Rest. After 11 a.m. Wednesday the body will be at the home, 14 Williams St., American Spinning Company. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
